I tried to upload this fine little Hawaiian/Exotica (Hawaiianotica?) LP once before but my copy sucked, quality-wise. Got a new copy and it sounds pretty good. This a very very nice exotica lite style collection of instrumentals. Don't let the "guitars" thing throw you off: the guitars are not overwhelming. Some ethereal (mostly wordless) vox and just a touch of sound effects make this most definitely an exotica album. Don't pass it up!

Hey! Found your blog through tikiroom.com I made a movie called BARRIO BOYS, which is screening at OLA FEST, downtown Orlando, on Sat Feb 17. We'll be doing a Piragua Party at 7, movie starts at 7:20 at Avalon Island/ex-Dmac Building 2nd floor. All Free. Piragua's are the equivalent of Hawaiian Ice, though we use Sirop El Morro, which is thicker. If you make it, get a piragua! I'll be the guy scraping ice.

Having stumbled on your blog, I was very impressed and have enjoyed many of your recommendations.
I am not sure where to look, but I am looking for old, vintage style Hawaiian music. Very mellow, very slow, instrumental, pretty much just slide guitar/lap steel guitar and ukelele. My only example I could provide would be the track "Moana Chimes" off of the Punch-Drunk Love Soundtrack by Jon Brion. I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions you might have:
